Rosies Giveaway! (Christmas Guide) CLOSED

Photobucket

This year I really wanted to bring to you some unique Christmas gift ideas. I wanted to be sure to include a variety of ideas for different ages and all different types of interest. Because of this, I felt spotlighting a few Etsy shops on this years gift guide would open the door to more creative and unique gift ideas. Etsy offers items that you can't find anywhere else. Not only are they beautiful and unique, but everything is handmade. This allows you to find something that someone won't expect, won't already have and a gift that the receiver can cherish.

The first Etsy shop I want to introduce to you is "Rosies". Rosies is a Mother and Daughter team, Mama D and Brandi. This shop has so many adorable handmade items. You will find a selection of bow ties for boys and several items for little girls and women. There is also a couple of adorable Christmas skirts and aprons I know you will love. You will also want to check out "Rosies Blog" where you can find cute craft ideas and upcoming items they are bringing to their shop. If you choose to follow Rosies Blog, you will automatically be eligible for an additional monthly giveaway as apart of our follower of the month program. Here is a little more about Rosies.

"So we are a ma and daughter just doing what we love! We love to sew and create and lately we just can't stop sewing. At Rosies our slogan is “You can do it!”. We love this! Our whole shop is based around projects that looked daunting but we knew that “we could do It” and sew can you! Rosies was named after mama D’s mother, Brandi’s grandmother. She herself was a “Rosie Riveter” during world war II. She was amazing and knew that she could do anything that she set her mind to. She loved life and kept making home a wonderful place for her children. She could make a complete delicious meal from an empty cupboard, she could make a boring rainy day into a fun exciting day that her children would never forget, She once made an old used dress into a brand new dress for a daughter who will never forget watching a brand new outfit being transformed into a special gift just for her out of love. She taught us to make due with what we have and if we didn’t have something we wanted to improvise and make something else that would work. To keep grandma Faye alive, everything that we sew and create is sewn with a smile, love, and her memory. We love our products and hope that you do to. It’s always fun to have something a little different!

Also keep in mind that we love custom orders. Just let us know what you are thinking and we will see what we can do! Happy Shopping!"

Review:

I feel in love with Kidorable products after looking through their adorable collections. I was thrilled when they offered to send my daughter any products of her choice to review. My daughter loves bugs and so we selected the "Bee" Umbrella and rain boots. These have become my daughters favorite pair of shoes. She wears them everywhere and we are constantly getting compliments.

I wanted to add Kidorable products to my Christmas Gift Guide for several reasons. One reason being how much you and your child will fall in love with them. Joshua Bell review and giveaway! CLOSED

Joshua Bell's "At Home With Friends" was recently released on September 29. Some of you may or may not have heard of the Grammy Award-winning violinist. I have to be honest, that I had never heard of Joshua Bell before this opportunity, but after looking through the list of songs and the other artist involved I was excited to get my hands on a copy. Below is the album tracklist.

Album Tracklisting (Originally performed by):
I Loves You Porgy featuring Chris Botti, trumpet
Come Again featuring Sting, vocals
Oblivion featuring Carel Kraayenhof, bandoneon
Cinema Paradiso featuring Josh Groban, vocals
Para Tí featuring Tiempo Libre, various
My Funny Valentine featuring >Kristin Chenoweth, vocals
Maybe So featuring Edgar Meyer Sam Bush and Mike Marshall, strings
Grieg: Sonata No. 3 featuring Sergei Rachmaninoff (Zenph re-performance)

Variant Moods: Duet for Sitar & Violin featuring Anoushka Shankar, sitar

This beautiful music included a great mix of classical, broadway, jazz and ethnicity. One of my personal favorites was “Eleanor Rigby” featuring Fankie Moreno. Safety Tats giveaway "Halloween-a-palooza"! CLOSED

This giveaway is part of the "Halloween-a-palooza". Click on the official "Halloween-a-palooza" button to find more fantastic halloween giveaways!!!

I am one of the many people who loves Halloween. Like you all know, our kids get a little excited for this holiday as well. Even though it is fun for our children to run around collecting candy and attending Halloween parties, it can be stressful for us as we try our best to keep our eyes on them. It is very easy for our children to get distracted and find themselves lost. For this reason, Safety Tats has created temporary tattoos which display a parent/caregiver's mobile phone number, helping the parent and child to quickly be reunited if separated. You can also find tattoos for a child with allergy's or a special medical condition.

Safety Tat was founded by Michele Welsh a mother of three (twins + plus one). Michele is proud to be called a "Mompreneur" and has personally designed, patented and marketed this line of super convenient child safety products. Michele created these products to make her life measurably less stressful, and coincidentally discovered a much needed new market segment.

Review:
I was very impressed as I searched through the Safety Tats website. It was nice to read how Safety Tats has made a difference and helped parents feel more at ease. I recommend that you check out all the testimonials at the Safety Tats website. Here you can read how Safety Tats has been used for children while attending amusement parks, field trips, play dates and more.

I was excited to be able to receive a set of my own. I was sent some Quick Stick Write-On's and a sample of Original Halloween SafetyTats. I have two very active children and neither of them enjoy sitting in strollers or wagons. My oldest feels he is too old to be confined and my youngest thinks she has to do everything her brother does. Therefor our outings can be very stressful for me. I am constantly trying to keep them buckled up in the stroller straps or trying to run in two different directions while they both take off running. Safety Tats really does help me feel comforted knowing that if they do manage to sneak away from me, they can show their cute tattoo which will help them be reunited with mommy and daddy. These tats are applied easily and stay on. The best part is my children think they are cool and I don't need to fight them to get them on.

Safety Tats can be custom made with your contact information already on the tattoo or you can order "Quick Stick Write-on's" which I received. I like the the option of being able to write on the number of who to contact in case your child is under another adults supervision at the time. If my children are attending a school field trip with a teacher, a birthday party for a friend or an event with a grandparents, it is nice to be able to write down the best number for contact at that time.

Discount:
Readers can recieve 15% off an order of $15 or more!
Use Code: Hail2theSnowQueen
(Code is case senseitive)

Giveaway:
Three winners will each receive 1 sample pack our our Quick Stick Write-On! Their choice of Boy, Girl, or a Multi pack.

To Enter:
Visit the Safety Tats store. Come back to this link and leave a comment telling me which tattoo and design your child would like.

I was very excited when I happened upon this next store. I wanted to find some fun halloween jewelry and after searching through several Etsy Shops, I thought Resin Jewellery was my favorite. I was happy when the creator agreed to join us for the "Halloween-a-palooza". Here is a little more about Resin Jewellry and the artist.

At Resin Jewellry you will find new pendants and necklaces every week. Most of Resin Jewellry's work is One of A Kind (OOAK). Even when the artist does repeat a design (which is rare), it will be different from ones before. This is mostly because each peice of jewelry is made by hand and mixed in the shades of glitter, etc. individually.

Resin Jewellery is filled with many fun pendents. Right now you can find lots of different Halloween themed pendants, including some that glow in the dark!

Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point GIVEAWAY!!! CLOSED

This giveaway is part of the "Halloween-a-palooza". Click on the official "Halloween-a-palooza" button to find more fantastic halloween giveaways!!!

Although it is sad to see summer come to an end, fall offers much to look forward to. Something my family and I look forward to each year is "Cornbelly's Corn Maze and Pumpkin Fest" which is held at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah. I usually attend cornbelly's at least twice a year. The last two years I attended Cornbelly's with the youth at my church, each year the moms in my neighborhood also get together with their kids and make a play date of it. Then of course my husband has to go, so we go a separate time with him, grandparents and cousins.

"Spice Up You Life" cookbook review and giveaway! CLOSED

I tend to become a very boring cook at my house. I get very nervous trying new things and adding any ingredients I can't pronounce. My husband on the other hand would love for me to take more risk in my cooking. Spaghetti and teriyaki chicken just aren't doing it for him anymore. He was very excited to hear that I was contacted by Bindu Grandhi the author and creator of "Spice Up your Life" to do a review on her cookbook. I was a little nervous knowing how picky I am with the reviews I choose and the food I like. But my love for my husband won and I agreed to do the review. I literally was crossing my fingers that these recipes would really be worth my while.

I decided to try the the "Chicken Cutlet with Tamarind Honey Dipping Sauce" pg. 98. The recipe was pretty simple, which was great news for me. It was really fun being introduced to so many new spices and ingredients. There was one ingredient for used in the dipping sauce that I couldn't find. However, I found a great way to substitute it on the Internet. This was the tamarind juice. Instead, I just combined 1/4 Cup orange juice and 2 TBSP of lime Juice. When everything was finally prepared, the food looked delicious and smelled great. As for the actual taste, my whole family loved it. My husband was very impressed and added this meal to his lift of favorites. I also loved the dish. The dipping sauce had great flavor mixed with a sweet and spicy taste. I also think the mix of all the spices really helped create the excellent taste.

What is great about these recipes is they all seem to include a great selection of spice to add to the taste. Before getting this book I thought it was an indian cookbook. Although there is some influence these recipes are actually geared towards healthy food with great flavor. Bindu Grandhi also got an early endorsement from Chef Emeril Lagasse!
