Mr. Linky Friday!!!

Where did the week go? I swear this week went by faster than most. I look forward to the weekend though and to a nice break next week. Yes, next week may be a little slow as I have allot going on, but I will get back on track the week after. I will try to update things, but no promises as sometimes a girl just needs some time away from her computer ;0).

Don't forget about the Curious Chef giveaway for the 3 knife set. This is the perfect gift for a child who loves to help around in the kitchen. All of Curious Chef utensils are kids friendly and mother approved!

Curious Chef CLOSED

My children are always begging me to let them help in the kitchen. I love knowing they enjoy helping, but worry when I am not always using kid friendly utensils. This sometimes makes cooking with them frustrating or unsafe. I was so excited when I happened upon the Curious Chef's site. Curious Chef has several products and kits for you and your children to enjoy together. All the utensils are made for children and their little hands as well as safe. Curious Chef Knife's are nylon and made with a serrated cutting edge with blunt tip.

Curious Chef was generous enough to offer me the "15 Pc Pizza Party Kit" to review. This was perfect timing as my sons birthday was coming up. We are planning on taking him to Disneyland for his birthday so I though the Pizza Party Kit would give him a great opportunity to celebrate with his closest friends. So he chose two friends to invite over and we got all ready to become pizza chefs!

Review:

This was by far one of my favorite reviews. My kids and their friends had so much fun. The utensils were very easy for them to use and I was even surprised how well the nylon knife worked. They each had a turn to cut olives and my 4, almost 5 year old, had no problem cutting them. The Pizza Party kit was so perfect for a birthday celebration and could be used for sleepovers as well as indoor activities for kids.

I think my children and mine favorite utensil was the rolling pin. It is so perfect for kids. It isn't too big and not too heavy. It worked so well when rolling out the dough. If you are looking for a roller for your children, I would recommend the Curious Chef Rolling Pin!

Extraordinary Pets (Now Available)!!!

I and several other Classy Closet members have had the opportunity to review several children books. All of which are new and upcoming releases. The first book I would like to introduce to you is "Extraordinary Pets" written and illustrated by Burroux.

Description:
A dog, a cat, a bird, a fish
great pets to have. But if you had your wish
why not choose one out of the ordinary?
Why not a pet who's EXTRAordinary?

Cats are cuddly, but elephants? Exceptional! A Chihuahua is cute, but tarantulas? Terrific! Flaps cleverly transform everyday animals into exotic, one-of-a-kind, perfect pets.

About the Author/Illustrator:
Acclaimed artist Barroux makes his Blue Apple Books debut with a book about an amazing array of animals. Barroux studied photography, art, sculpture, and architecture in France at the famous Ecole Estienne and Ecole Boule. He went on to work as an art director in Paris and Montreal. While in Montreal, Barroux began illustrating by creating linocut images, and he is now well known for his children's book illustrations.

Review:
My children absolutely love this book. Sadly, I don't know if I will ever even let my children have a pet in our home, even if it is just a fish. However, they love animals and this book gave them the opportunity to explore their imaginations as well as dream a little.

I enjoyed how the book used flaps, which allowed my children to guess which pet the author would be introducing next. The artwork was also very fun. The only negative thins I have to say is I wish the book continued to rhyme. I love rhyming books and from the description I thought it would have been written that way. However, my children didn't seem to mind one bit. They enjoyed the book from cover to back. I would defiantly recommend this book to any of my readers with children who have huge imaginations and love animals.

Buy It:
You can purchase "Extraordinary Pets" online at Amazon, Borders or at your local book store.
