Shrek Forever After (The Game) REVIEW!!!!

We finally gave in and got our kids a wii this year. Since then we are always looking for fun games that the family can enjoy. The opportunity came up for my family and I to review Shrek Forever After (The Game) and I knew my son would never forgive me if I didn't say yes. We have seen all of the past Shreks including Shrek the Halls and lets just say my son and daughter are fans.

Review:
My son immediately started telling his friends that we got the new Shrek Wii Game. He was so excited as were his friends. It took him a little bit of time to adjust from playing Batman Legos to Shrek. The controls and buttons were used differently in Shrek, but that is expected in any game.

Since we only have two controllers my son and his friends loved the fact that they could change characters. If we had 4 remotes then each person would be their own character (Shrek, Fiona, Puss In Boots or Donkey). The game allows each character to have their own abilities which can be used to conquer different obstacles. You can also hear the characters make the same exact silly comments you would hear them say in the movie. This made the kids laugh.

I have to admit that I played the game as well. I love these types of games. At first I was worried that I wouldn't be able to figure out what I was suppose to be doing, but the game was sure to guide me along the way. I felt this also helped my son and I. There was an arrow to guide you in the direction you wanted to go and several hints along the way which you could interact with to receive clues or advice as to which character you should use. Be sure to look for The Three Blind Mice as they will give you a few clues if needed as well.

Some of the challenges did take us a while to accomplish like when we went to the dragons castle. This made the game challenging, but in a good way. My son and I had to work together to get through it. It was really fun trying to solve the puzzles and get through the obstacles. It really got us thinking and problem solving. This has been a great game to have in our home to play as a family or with friends.

This game gets two "green thumbs up"!

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Activision and received the items necessary to facilitate my review. In addition, Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate. This by no means has influenced my opinion of the product and what I wrote was mine and my sons honest opinion.
