"Let’s Get Ready For Kindergarten/First Grade" review and giveaway! CLOSED!

I have been reviewing an amazing book used to prepare children for kindergarten and first grade. Every parent wants their child to excel in their education. When your child gets ready to enter kindergarten you want them to be ready. I have this same hope for my own little ones and I want to make sure I do what I can as a mother to prepare them.
While pregnant with my first I worked as a Teachers Aide in kindergarten. I noticed that no matter how wonderful the teacher was, if the parents didn't do their part to teach their child at home then the child would begin to fall behind the other students. I didn't want that to happen with my own children. Now that my oldest is four I have been trying to find the appropriate approach in helping my son. This has has been a harder task then I thought.
"Let's Get Ready For Kindergarten" and "Let's Get Ready For First Grade" has really helped direct me to the best teaching method. One of our struggles has been spelling his name correctly. He knows which letters to use, but didn't seem the know the difference between upper and lower case. He also has struggled getting the letters in the right order. Some of the first pages included a list of all upper and lower case letters. This has really helped my son differentiate between the two. The next page
had all the letters mixed up. This gave my son the chance to search for the letters he needed. He is a lot more familiar with the upper and lower case letters. He can even spell his name in order out load without mixing up the letters. I give much credit to "Let's Get Ready For Kindergarten". My son is recognizing numbers and now working on days of the week. He loves his book and the activities. "Let's Get Ready For Kindergarten" is great for all types of learners and each page is made so that you can use dry-erase markers on them. Allowing your child to use a more hands on approach for learning. "Let's Get Ready For Kindergarten" and "Let's Get Ready For First Grade" is also available in an english and spanish version.
Stacey Kannenberg is the author of these wonderful books. I highly recommend this wonderful book. You can find "Let's Get Ready For Kindergarten/First Grade" at www.cedarvalleypublishing.com or at Amazon (and other select booksellers nationwide).

The Giveaway: One lucky person will win their own copy of "Let's Get Ready For Kindergarten" in English or Spanish/English. They will also recieve the First Grade book in English.

To Enter:
Go to Cedar Valley Publishing and tell me something you learned about Stacey Kannenberg, the author.

HoneyBee Gardens review/giveaway (CLOSED)

I love to pamper myself. I have found that caring for my hair and skin makes me feel happier about me. I can walk with more confidence and know that I am giving my body the care it deserves.
I heard about Honeybee Gardens and their all natural, cruelty-free and environmentally aware products. I looked them up and noticed they have a great selection of cosmetics, hair and body care. They even have products for men. Knowing of Honeybee Gardens all natural products and seeing their incredible prices motivated me to learn more.
I have been using Honeybee Gardens JobaColors Eye liner for a couple of weeks now. First off, I am very particular with my make-up, especially my eye liner. I am always hesitant when the price is inexpensive and the product is all natural. I have noticed with other products like this that their eye liner goes on too dark or too light, doesn't blend or doesn't last. I am happy to day that Honeybee Gardens has been the perfect eyeliner. The eyeliner goes on and it last all day. It really stays on all day.
One of my favorite things to do with my eyeliner is to blend it so it softens it's look around the eye. JobaColors eye liner does this perfectly. For the great price and knowing I can use products that are aware of the environment and me as a women I will continue to use Honeybees products.
I loved how this product worked so much I decided to include a picture of how it looks. I am no model, but look how soft and perfect this eye liner looks.

The Giveaway: Honeybee Gardens is giving away a set of 3 JobaColors eye liner to two winners. Both winners will recieve all colors.

To Enter: Visit Honeybee Gardens and look around (This is a must). Come back and leave a comment telling me something else, besides the eye liner's, that you would love to try.

LaDesigns2 CLOSED!

Are you looking for the perfect Easter basket that will last years to come? You are going to love this shop. I was so impressed with LaDesigns2 fabric baskets that I had to do an interview. Here is what I learned.

Mama Snow-"What do you sell in your Etsy shop?"
Lee Anne- "I sell handbags, holiday and gift baskets, key fobs and pin cushions so far! I am always thinking up new ways to use my fabric stash!"

Mama Snow-"How long have you been sewing and creating?"
Lee Anee-"I have been sewing since I was very young about 40 years. My mother taught me!"

Mama Snow-"Since it is Easter and you have a wonderful collection of baskets, what got you inspired to create custom baskets?"
Lee Anne-"My own children inspire me daily! Once when I was sewing a purse around Halloween, my daughter who was 8 at the time said, why don't you make me a trick or treat basket? I did and wound up making all her friends one too! So, that was the beginning of the baskets!"

Mama Snow-"What motivated you to to sell your beautiful work?"
Lee Anne-"Well, I used to teach full time before my kids were born. After that, I was a stay at home mom. I have always loved to sew for my kids. Money was tight and all my friends said you should be selling these creations, so I got started on Ebay and then Etsy.

If you are loving Ladesigns2's shop, you can find her baskets posted around the holidays. I think the hallween baskes would also be fun to have. LaDesign2 also welcomes custom orders!

The Giveaway: One lucky winner will win a boys or girls custom Easter basket.

To Enter: You must visit LaDesigns2's store, take a look around then come back and tell me which basket you will choose if you win. (No other entries will count unless you do this one!)

The Broken House CLOSED!

The Broken House is full of beautiful decorations for you home and for the holidays. I am so amazed with the craftmanship of all The Broken House items. You must check out the Paper Mache Apples. They look amazing and for only $8 you get 1/2 dozen apples to add in your home.

Here is a little more about the artist Sheri.

"I've been selling on-line for a little over 4 years now. The reason I got started was that I loved to decorate for the holidays. I was tired of paying for everything and I kept thinking, "I could do that....". I finally tried, bought myself a cheap sewing machine and went to town. I've dabbled in a lot of things the past few years, but always liked painting paper mache items. That has been my main focus for the past few years. I started selling my paper mache boxes and eggs on Etsy spring of last year and love it. It is a great site, with great people."

The Giveaway: Win a dozen of the bright colored paper mache eggs. (These are amazing!)

To Enter: You must visit The Broken House store, take a look around then come back and tell me another one of your favorite items.

Tactile Baby! CLOSED

Finding the perfect Easter toy to add to your child's basket can be a pain. Espcially with all the lead paint and recall scares. Tactiile Baby was created for this reason. I asked the Colleen, the owner of Tactile Baby, to share some more information about her and her store. This is what she had to say.

"I was born with the DIY gene. Even as a young girl I would go shopping for clothes and instinctively think to myself "I could make that". I learned to sew, knit and embroider when I was still in Elementary School (thanks to my talented grandmother's patient instruction).

Of course when I found out I was pregnant I went about designing a nursery. When I couldn't find any bedding I liked, it was a no brainer, I'd make my own. Well, when I was done with the bedding I moved on to a wall quilt, and a wall mural. When we couldn't find a dresser we liked we, (my husband and I), built one ourselves.

My son's first Christmas, 2007, was marked by a widly publicized lead paint scare. Each day, it seemed to me, a new toy was being recalled. My son was at the age, 9 months, where everything was going into his mouth, so in a effort to ease our concerns my husband and I decided that we would make all his gifts.

I think what makes Tactile Baby unique is that nearly all of the products I produce were first envisioned as things my son would use, and in fact, he does have one of nearly everything in my product line. A mother's care, concern and eye for the tiniest of details goes into every design."

I love the fact that all Tactile products were created by a concerned mother and the toys and items were made around children and their likes. I want to personally thank Colleen for creating such wonderful and safe products.

The Giveaway: Win a your choice of a blue, pink or yellow bunny puzzle.

To Enter: You must visit Tactile Baby, take a look around then come back and tell me another one of your other favorite toys or items.
